Pelosi Backs Murtha

From Roll Call:

Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), in line to become Speaker in January, is throwing her support to Rep. John Murtha (D-Pa.) in the race for Majority Leader, a move that will be an early test of her influence and will weigh heavily on Murtha's contest with Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) for the post.

All I have to say is UGH. Number 1, Hoyer would make a better leader than Murtha. Number 2, Murtha has a fairly shady pork-barrel-loving past. Number 3, if he loses, Pelosi is going to look pretty weak. She should have stayed out of it.

I think your right about no. 3 at least. Hoyer is not squeaky clean either.

All I know is if I have a choice between two corrupt politicians for the leadership like Hoyer and Murtha, I'll take the guy from Maryland since at least he can help us in this state.
