It Takes Real Chutzpah. . . .

Really?

Yeah, really. Even if the Ulman campaign is behind this, as you suggest, do you have any evidence that the allgations contained in the website are inaccurate or misleading?

It also takes real Chutzpah to suggest that the publishers of this site are trying to hide thier indentity from the public. Right on the web site itself it says:

"By Authority of Maryland Democratic Party, Ken Banks, Treasurer."

Steve, that is my point. Ulman is behind it. Same Internet Service Provider, same DNS, and same IP address. The Dem Party is a cover.

It takes real chutzpah to try to hide the fact that he is behind it.

I have posted a number of refutations on Hayduke's site.

Steve,

Ulman admitted he was behind the smear. I admire you for standing up for your candidate. How do you feel now since Ulman now admits a week later that he was behind the smear?

A) I don't think it was a smear,

B) I don't think he ever tried to disaasociate himself from the Website,
(Becuase he had no good reason to do so).

C) this is a very, common practice in politics, both parties do it all the time, partially for reasons having to do with campaign finance law.

D) I'm still tring to understand why you are singling out Ken Ulman for this pratice which is done by almost ever major party candidate in the U.S.

I am singling Ulman out because this is new to Howard County politics, shows Ulman's true colors, you said I had real chutzpah to suggest it in the first place, it doesn't matter that others are going it, studies show that candidates who are behind or running against an incumbent do this.

Most of all, because he is lying about Merdon's record and he knows it. Is that what you mean by common practice? Lie about the opponents record but don't get caught doing it?

If it is so common why didn't someone put up www.therealken.com? Probably something to do with integrity.

I have posted a number of refutations and no one (including you) has responded.

ie: Ulman says Merdon rezoned anenviromentally protected piece of land so a developer could build on that land. That is an outright lie. It was not enviromentally protected they were going to build townhouses on that land.

It was rezoned so that the community could get what it wanted which was single family homes so the development would confirm to the neighborhood - that is what I call "community input to the zoning process".

And

Ulman blasts Merdon for voting for the same bill that Jim Robey is campaigning on which was for 30,000 housing units. Ken doesn’t mention that was part of a 20 year plan that was passed unanimously by the majority democrat County Council and signed by County Executive Robey. Ken doesn’t mention that the original plan was for 50,000 units but Chris Merdon supported an amendment to reduce the number of units per year from 2,500 to 1,500. So yes, Chris voted for 30,000 units but he prevented it from being 50,000 units. Contrary to Ken’s claims, he SLOWED growth by preventing 20,000 new homes. No where does Ulman mention that. He takes it out of context and distorts the record. But what impression is Hayduke left with - it must be true because Keelan called Ulman a liar.

That is why.
